Normal People (2020): The Long Situationship
This week, we are taking a look at the limited series, Normal People, streaming on Hulu!
Welcome to the second installment of TSOC! I finished this show a few months ago, and it is unlike my usual patterns of TV watching. Although now, I have a deeper appreciation and crush on Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones. I went through a roller coaster of emotions from joy to annoyance to grief in just twelve episodes.
As always, read over the rundown to see if you should delve into the show! And subscribe if you love what you are seein’ ;)
THE SPOILER-FREE RUNDOWN…
The premise (always from Google):
Following Marianne and Connell, from different backgrounds but the same small town in Ireland, as they weave in and out of each other's romantic lives and start to grow up.
Four words to describe it:
small-town, sexual af, dramatic, coming-of-age
Why watch it:
It is an adaptation of Sally Rooney book, so it has the drama, realistic characters and dramatic elements of good literature. It is also the series that made Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones popular, and it had a lot of buzz around it during the pandemic. Also, it has a LOT of romantic/intimate scenes if you are into that and takes place in Ireland, which has its own charm and unique feel.

Who this show is for:
People who want a good cry, those who are h*rny (sorry), those who like stories that take place over a long period of time, those who are going through really complicated FWB/Situationships, those who like Irish accents
